hair transplant and other advice wanted
5:17 PM on Feb. 1, 2008

Hi Guys

I was interested in knowing if anyone has had or is considering a hair transplant? Are there any forms of alopecia which fare better with a transplant (ie FPB over TE etc)? Do you need to be a certain level of hair loss or need to have tried other treatments first? Any advice or experiences in this (and other treatments) would be really appreciated.

Thanks :)

Chari

PS: Does FPB stop at a certain level like MPB does??

Hi Chari,

Recently Dr. Sara who is a hair restoration surgeon, joined our group. I thought this would be the perfect person for you to direct your hiar transplant questions to. Her profile is: http://community.womenshairlossproject.com/drsara/

I am very curious about transplants too. The little bit of research I have done says that most women are not good canidates for them as, unlike men, we tend to lose hair all over leaving little folicles suitable for transplants. (Men usually take them the donor hair from the back of their heads and put it on top.) Have you found out anything different?
