Hi Lisa,
Hope everything is going well up in Boston! Guess you are having a cold snap too...bet you have that space heater cranking at work!

Just though I would let you know that I had my new labs. My thyroid levels are off again so my dose of meds was upped. so I am not feeling so great these days and my hair is shedding again. But I thought I would let you know that my testosterone labs came back dead in the middle of normal.

Testosterone total 20 (rr 2-45)
% free Testosterone 1.03 (rr 0.5-2.0)
Free Testosterone 2.1 (rr 0.1-6.4)
FSH 2.8
LH 1.6

So maybe my thyroid is messing around with all my other hormones. My cycles are still over 40 days apart but my LH to FSH ratio seems to be closer to 1:1. I am still concerned with PCOS but I think maybe it is all just my thyroid.
How are you feeling? I hope the hair loss has slowed down. Let me know.

I dont know if I would say California is laid back. I don't feel like L.A. is laid back. Maybe parts of the state are. I am coping much better lately. I have been listening to Eckhart Tolle and Oprah's live lectures on Oprah.com every Monday night. Kinda goes along with "The Secret" in a way. You should check it out if you can. It is at 9:00 your time.

Hi Lisa,

I found this link for diagnosing thyroid issues and thought you might be interested since it is definitely worth it to consider everything over and over when it comes to hair loss. It is just something to consider and think about even though it seems to have been ruled out. And it might be worth it to get another thyroid panel down the road especially if your hair keeps falling out and sex hormones are out of whack.

Let me know if you can find the article from the link. Hope you had a good weekend and maybe spring is on the way for you guys up there!! It sure is down here...flowers everywhere and allergy causing pollen!!

Weather here is just about perfect. I have to be careful with the sun. I am really fair skinned and sunscreen never seems like it works. It is so hard to believe that has been snowing hard in places. When I spent a year in Ohio, I finally learned that is a such thing as four seasons! Anyway, I hope you have been getting some progress on your health and that you are finding more happy days. I am trying to do that.

Hi Lisa! Three more days till the weekend!! Hope I can make it!

Until recently I have had dandruff. I have never in my life had it before until losing my hair and being dx with Hashimoto's (hypoT). I lasted for about 6 months and seems to be under control now. My scalp was itchy for awhile there too and it seemed like every time the endo switched my synthroid dosage my scalp would get hot and burn and so would my ears (it was very weird feeling). My derm prescribed 2% nizoral shampoo and some steroid drops for the itchy places. 1% nizoral is sold over the counter. Now I just use the shampoo once a week instead of every other day and the drops every once in awhile. It couldn't hurt to try and might help.

I think my loss has slowed down some and has been remaining the same for about two weeks. I want to believe it is getting better but I am going to be worried until I have my next labs for my thyroid, testosterone, LH, and FSH. I just hope I don't have to go back on birth control pills because they make me gain weight, not alot but just enough to make me mad and I am so tired of messing around with my hormones.

I don't want to freak you out but the one lab that had your TSH at 4.38 is on the high end (the American Association of Endocrinologist (??think thats what it is called) recommends the TSH range of 0.3-3.0). I am glad that it went back to 1.87. Did you have TPO antibodies or Thyroglobulin antibodies checked?

Maybe it will turn around for you soon. I keep reading that it takes 6 months or more for you hair cycle to come back into order. It sure it tough waiting especially when you start worrying about PCOS and other hormonal issues.

Hope you are staying warm up there in Beantown! It is going to be in the 70's the rest of the week here!! Spring weather! I will be in the woods for the next two days for work. I hope I get a suntan and don't pick up any more ticks! I found three on me last week...yuck!

Hi Lisa,

We went to Newport and visited the shore, found many fossils and went to the Aquarium. It is amazing after a storm how many new shells, fossils in rocks of shells are washed to the shore.
I love the the energy from the waves and the ocean. It is so powerful. I awoke to the thundering rolls of the ocean early one morning feeling almost cleaned by it. I awoke cleansed and refreshed.
It felt sooo good.

Hope you had a nice Easter Weekend !
