What Caused The Onset Of Your Hair Loss?:
How has your hair loss changed you?:
It has made me much, much more mindful of how I treat my hair. It has also made me very insecure and frightened about how much more I will lose. It has made a current stressful situation all the more stressful.
About Me
About Me:
Between 5 months ago and now, I have lost a lot of thickness to my hair (ie, ponytail holders need an extra turn than they used to.. and then still sometimes are loose). I am not certain why; it may be a combination of major stress (job loss, relationship issues), terrible hard water at a new location, perimenopausal changes... I'm not sure. I AM sure the uncertainty it brings is the most difficult aspect to cope with.

A NOTE to anyone reading who is interested in herbal supplements and cares to hear my opinion:
I've studied herbal medicine as a 'hobby' for years, and if there is one thing I've learned, it is that most herbs are at their very weakest in pressed pill or dried capsule form. If you are going to try herbs, you are better off by far spending your money on fresh dried herbs and making an infusion, or springing the $ for a tincture. (which is best depends if the herb has water soluble or alcohol soluble constituents) These preparations are much more medicinal in action that the pills. Feel free to ask me specifics about herbs. I feel I have a bit of knowledge in that realm, and I'm more than willing to share. (and no, I don't sell anything or represent anyone who does!).

I have read a few women (here and elsewhere) say that Redmond strictly goes by his book. If you haven't read the book, definitely do before you shell out the $ to see him, and be sure you agree with his overall approach. (I have a copy of...

My 2 cents, based on self experimentation.. it is less how often you wash, and more how you handle you hair and what you wash with. Mostly, if your hair is gonna shed, it's gonna shed, as far as handling, but rough handling can add breaka...
