About Me
About Me: I am 33. I am also a OR nurse and have a 15 year old that loves to test me. I am reading tons on how to develop my self. I am married to a wonderful man (also a nurse) that doesn't really know how hair loss effects me. I enjoy working in my garden, riding my bike and being with my twin. I also love reading these days and walking my dog.

I just am not sure why my hair is shedding. My part is a little bigger. It is less dense and I want to save what I have left. I know I have low Iron, not sure my numbers. Not sure if this will keep shedding or will stop. A bit stressful. I do love wearing hats. I also have really curly hair like my twin shanLaree. She referred me to this site. I have not been to seen a dermatologist but my sister has and was told she has Female Pattern hair loss. My sisters derm thinks using Rogaine will help reduce hairloss.

Hi smaree....fellow nurse! I work in the operating room and I wear OR hats....so at work I feel really comfortable. I get questioned about the back of my head because you can see that it is shaved. At home, I wear my head au natural...my finacee always rips off my bandana and states that I look beautiful. When I go out, I wear a bandana. It has taken almost a month or two for me to become "OK" with the new look. I do not wear wigs because I think It would be uncomfortable and that it plays into the whole beauty industry which is constantly creating what a women should look like. People may talk behind my back but when I shared my experience to people, they seem to be sensitive and OK. People try to fix the problem by offering me suggestions ie. products etc. I just tell them that I do not need fixing and I feel great about my decision. Funny enough, I feel like I am glowing and people are noticing! When you stop focusing on what is not so important and place all that energy into being the best human being possible....the sky is the limit. I hope this helps! Anisa

I am sorry you are going thru this... I understand everything that you are feeling. I don't think my husband understands how much grief this is causing me either. He supports me, but sometimes I wonder if he thinks I am being vain. I have Androgenetic Alopecia and have seen all sorts of doctors, derms and endocrinologists. Despite the treatment that I have tried, I don't feel that anything is helping. So, instead of letting this get to me even more than it already does, I am going with a hair replacement system. I am hoping it will help me focus less on my hair, more on my wonderful family.

Hi smaree..I'm an OR nurse also for 30 yrs....not that I think it is the cause of my hairloss but the bonnets we have to wear...do cause hairloss. In the old days there was fiberglass in them! I've been told that was long ago, and it is not true anymore...but we are not allowed to wear our own hats so..I think whatever is in them does contribute. That is why so many surgeons are balding in the center..it's from the hats. I see you are using Rogaine...I have been for almost 2 months and the shedding is unbelievalbe...they say it decreases after 2-4 weeks..not for me. I will continue to try because..it is the only thing proven to re grow and decrease shedding..I'm waiting for either to happen. I hope it works for you:)
